Building Information:
The 100,000 square foot, $16.5 million St. Johns Administration Building and Auditorium is the new home of the county's commission and administration. The building will be required to host many of the county premier events and is built to last for decades to come. The building is home to the county attorney's office, management, budget and office of building operations. Also, the building will be used to store important government minutes and other records.

Because of the importance of the contents and activities in this government office and its proximity to the east coast of Florida the building was constructed to meet a Category III hurricane storm surge. The Martin/IMETCO integral metal deck and roof is designed to meet Florida's Enhanced Hurricane Protection Area (EHPA) criteria. The combined testing of this integral system meets the most stringent requirements for extreme wind conditions and debris impact. The result is a roof that provides "near absolute protection" under a combined long term warranty for the complete system that is in compliance with the requirements for FEMA 361 Design and Construction Guidance for community Safe Rooms.
